Vintage 1920s Small Metal Baskets w Handle~1 trinket box, candy holder, ornament

6 round baskets, 8 flower shaped baskets and 1 round trinket box.

Wire baskets were popular in the 1920s.  These small round baskets were made with twisted wire handles, scrollwork of wire walls to create an open concept walls and a bottom with holes.

Miniature silver and brass baskets were sold by fine jewelry stores during the Christmas season.  They were meant to hold tiny pieces of jewelry such as rings, earrings, and other such small items. They were to be placed on the tree, where loved ones would find them.  Many were subsequently used as candy or nut containers or party favors.

These baskets measures 3 1/4 inches tall, 1 3/8 inches of just basket and has a 2 3/8 inch diameter.  They are in very good condition but does have a bit of tarnishing on the bottom.  They can also double as a gift container for an Easter basket present.  There are no markings on either basket.
